Corso Polonia: Polish culture festival in Rome
Two weeks of Polish culture in Rome from 1-16 June.
Theatre, music, art, cinema, talks, a focus on tourism as well as activities for children: Corso Polonia 2019, the Polish culture festival organised by the Polish Institute in Rome, takes place from 1-16 June.
The theme of the 17th edition of the festival is Gdansk Free City, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Gdańsk Agreement, with events being held in venues across Rome.
The two-week festival opens on Saturday 1 June at the Casa del Jazz with a concert by the Tomasz Chyła Quintet.
Festival highlights include the Michal Szlaga exhibition entitled Cantiere Navale. Documenti di perdita comprising 32 images from the Centre Pompidou collection, never exhibited in Italy, which recount the dismantling of the Gdansk shipyards; the two theatrical performances at the Teatro Torlonia in collaboration with the Teatro di Roma; film screenings at the Cinema Farnese and activities dedicated to children at the Casina Raffaello in Villa Borghese.
