A new swing and jazz venue, The Cotton Club, opens on 1 December on Via Bellinzona in the Parioli area of Rome. London-born Minnie Minoprio, a 1970s TV showgirl and jazz singer who has lived in Rome for 45 years, is the mastermind behind the new club, which offers live music and a large dance floor. To inaugurate the venue, the first four evenings will be free to the public and will feature local and national names from 22.00 onwards. The programme is as follows:

Fri 1 Dec - The Flippers (jazz influenced by chachacha, twist, surf, hully gully)

Sat 2 Dec - Scaramanouche Swing

Sun 3 Dec - Roman Dixieland Few Stars di Michele Pavese

Mon 4 Dec - Red Pellini Quartet.

The club is usually open from 20.00, with shows at 22.00. Tues closed. Entrance 12 including drink.
