Day 2 at Rome's Irish Film Festa 2018
Rome's IRISH FILM FESTA is dedicated entirely to Irish cinema.
22 March. The 11th edition of the Irish Film Festa continues at 15.00 on Thursday 22 March, with Making Shorts, an in-depth panel on Ireland's short film industry. The panel includes Eibh Collins and Gar O'Brien (Galway Film Fleadh), and Derry O'Brien (Network Ireland Television).
At 19.00 there is an encounter with the award-winning Irish writer Paul Lynch as part of the festival's new #IFFbooks section, dedicated to Irish literature.
At 21.00 the festival screens the documentary Rocky Ros Muc by Michael Fanning, chronicling the life and sporting career of Sean Mannion, an Irish boxer who emigrated from Connemara to Boston in the 1970s. The film is preceded by the short Guard.
The Irish Film Festa is based at Rome's Casa del Cinema, in the Via Veneto corner of Villa Borghese, and runs until 25 March. For full details see Irish Film Festa website.
