Day 3 at Rome's Irish Film Festa 2018
Rome's IRISH FILM FESTA is dedicated entirely to Irish cinema.
23 March. The 11th edition of the Irish Film Festa continues at 16.30 with Short Films in Competition | Live Action and the screening of the short films Listen - Gustav - Lava Lisa – Marky’s Bad Week – QED – The Jar – A Break in the Clouds.At 19.00 there is Short Films in Competition | Animation with the screening of Departure - Coranna - Late Afternoon - The Line.
The out-of-competition animated short film An Béal Bocht (The Poor Mouth) by Tom Collins, based on the eponymous story by Flann O'Brien, will be introduced by Prof. John McCourt, Università di Macerata.
At 21.00 the festival hosts the Italian premiere of Kissing Candice, the debut film by the music video director Aoife McArdle. The story follows 17-year-old Candice who finds solace in her imagination before becoming entangled with a dangerous local gang. This will be preceded by the screening of the short film The Captors.
The Irish Film Festa is based at Rome's Casa del Cinema, in the Via Veneto corner of Villa Borghese, and runs until 25 March. For full details see Irish Film Festa website.
