The Teatro dellOpera di Roma also focuses on Mozart with Don Giovanni to open its season (18-24 Jan 2006). This masterpiece returns to Rome after almost four years. Although the cast as a whole is new, Marco Vinco, Alessandro Corbelli, Darina Takova, Laura Chierici and Giampiero Ruggieri, Mariella Devia and Raul Gimenez are familiar with the opera having performed in the 2002 production. The new people include conductor Hubert Soudant and Franco Zeffirelli, who is also in charge of scenery and costumes and who always comes up with sumptuous and elaborate performances. Paolo di Nicola
