With the Teatro Stabile di Calabria, and Rocco Barbaro and Peppino Mazzotta. Performed in Calabrian dialect, this is a story of immigration, marginalisation, escape and resignation. Carnezzeria by Emma Dante. 17-22 June 2003. Carnezzeria is the butchery, and the protagonist, young Nina, the sacrificial animal. This is another tale of southern marginalisation, written and directed by Emma Dante, the young Sicilian winner of an important literary prize.
