El Graduado (The Graduate)
24 Feb-24 March 2005.
A love triangle involving an attractive middle-aged woman, her daughter and a young man who has recently graduated from college... If you have not guessed already El Graduado is a Spanish theatre remake of the classic Sixties film starring Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft and Katharine Ross from the 1962 novel by Charles Webb. This time the lead roles belong to Juan Diaz playing Ben Braddock, the bored and tortured young sexual plaything of Mrs Robinson, played by the stunning ngela Molina, with the role of Elaine belonging to Molinas real life daughter Olivia. This theatre production of The Graduate was first staged in London in 2000 and has enjoyed spells on Broadway with the likes of Kathleen Turner and Alicia Silverstone in the leading roles. The Spanish production includes the wonderful soundtrack including Paul Simons classic songs, Mrs Robinson, Scarborough Fair, and Sounds of Silence and a splash of Mediterranean styling thanks to the designer wardrobe supplied by Roberto Verino.
