18 July. An emergency blood drive will take place at the Spanish Steps on Wednesday 18 July from 08.00 until midday in an event organised by Doctors in Italy, in collaboration with the British Council, in support of local charity AdSpem.
Organisers say the #GiveBackToRome is to to show the "commitment and generosity of the international community", as blood donations in Italy hit an all time low and this summer blood may not be sufficient to save those who need it.
