Emilio Greco: i Segni e le Forme
Rome and London are currently celebrating the centenary of the birth of Sicilan sculptor Emilio Greco (1913-1995), with a series of events and exhibitions in each city. In Rome the city's Palazzo Braschi Museum presents nine monumental sculptures by Greco, six in the recently-restored courtyard and three inside, along with a selection of 30 drawings by the artist. A concurrent exhibition takes place at the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art in London, which presents sculpture for the first time, while the Palazzo Braschi exhibition follows two summer shows dedicated to Greco in Orvieto in Umbria, and Chieti in Abruzzo. There is a permanent display of the artist's work at Museo Emilio Greco in his native Catania. Museo di Roma Palazzo Braschi, Piazza di S. Pantaleo 10, tel. 060608, www.museodiroma.it.
