The most-hyped film of the year is showing in two Rome cinemas in its original language version.
Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic 1925 novel depicting the excesses of the "Jazz Age", the story follows the life and times of mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and his neighbour Nick, who recounts his encounter with Gatsby.
Directed by Baz Luhrmann, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joel Edgerton, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan.
Last autumn in Rome, the story was the focus of the Italy Reads programme at John Cabot University, and the subject of a lavish production by the English Theatre of Rome.
Nuovo Olimpia: 16.15, 19.10, 22.05
