21-30 Oct. As part of John Cabot University's annual Italy Reads programme, the English Theatre of Rome stages a performance of The Glass Menagerie, directed by Lee Andrew Archer and starring Frank Baj, Tracy Caputo, Martina Angelucci, Al Mariotti and Laurence Belgrave.
When this four-character memory play premiered in 1944 it catapulted its author Tennessee Williams from obscurity to international fame. The play's action centres around the memories of the narrator, Tom Wingfield, who supports his mother Amanda and sister Laura. Things take a dramatic turn with the arrival of Laura's suitor Jim.
