Entre Orient i Occident.

19 Nov 2004-3 April 2005. This exhibition at Barcelonas Museu de Cermica represents the first public display of over 100 works from the museums collections of Oriental, North-African and European ceramics. The exhibition emphasises the importance of markings on ceramics, in the transmission of themes and decorative motifs. The historical backdrop to the exhibition is coloured by east-west trade ties and technological change from the early Middle Ages to the 19th century. Included amongst the exhibits is the most significant collection of Spanish enamelled pottery with works dating from the 11th century to the 20th centuries. The museum is located in the Palau Reial de Pedralbes, a wonderful royal residence built in the 1920s. Its magnificent gardens were designed by Rubi i Tudur and contain a fountain by Gaud. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 10.00 to 18.00. and on Sundays and holidays, from 10.00 to 15.00. Closest Metro station is Palau Reial.
