This sophisticated music festival organised by the famous Accademia Musicale Chigiana includes the so-called Settimana Musicale Senese (11-20 July) with world-class musicians and orchestras in concerts, recitals and the opera La ville morte by Nadia Boulanger and Raoul Pugno (15-16 July). Events take place in churches and theatres in the city of Siena, then in other historic venues in towns and the countryside nearby. Pianist Maurizio Pollini closes the programme at Teatro dei Rozzi (25 Aug).
