30 Nov.
On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the death of composer Francesco Geminiani, the splendid chamber music ensemble conducted by Fabio Biondi, Europa Galante, brings freshness and invention to a composition inspired by the XIII song of Tasso's Jerusalem Delivered "The Enchanted Forest".
Just as during the first performance of the work in 1754, there will be none of the dancing that was subsequently introduced, but there will be an animated drawing film realised by theatre director David Livermore.
The multiple award-winning Europa Galante was formed by Fabio Biondi to draw the international public’s attention to a new and definitive Italian presence in the interpretation of music from the baroque and classical eras on original instruments.
Biondi gathered around him some of the best Italian musicians with whom he had already worked, and soon Europa Galante met with huge success.
