This cutting edge international festival of contemporary stage arts offers a varied and complex programme. From its centre, the Stazione Leopolda, it stretches out across Florence with events in other spaces including squares, streets and urban crossroads. Its aim is to involve not only the traditional festival public, but also to reach out to the "man-in-the-street". The programme features a line-up of international and national contemporary dance, music, theatre, visual arts and multimedia. Amongst the interesting names on the programme are those of Alvis Hermanis, director of the New Theatre of Riga who presents a performance entitled Sonja; the new Japanese performing scene presents Takahiro Fujita and his company Mum&Gipsy which presents his Dots, lines and the cube. A world and the others in the cube that shines. Then there is FaifFai, a new collective from Tokyo, a new project by Benoit Lachambre and contemporary dance by Fabrizio Monteverde and Enzo Cosimi.
