18 Oct. Cultural marathon takes place across Italy.
The second edition of the FAI Marathon takes place in 500 locations across Italy on Sunday 18 October. This year in Rome the visits are centred around the Valle Giulia area, near Villa Borghese.
Participating sites include the Zoological Museums, the 16th-century Villa Poniatowski which houses part of the national Etruscan collection, a visit to the art vaults of the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna (GNAM), and the gallery's sculpture-filled Giardini delle Fontane.
Similar to Britain’s National Trust, the Fondo Ambiente Italia (FAI) works to preserve and highlight Italy’s cultural heritage through education, restoration, events and open days.
