Festa Internazionale di Roma.
13-21 Oct 2006. Nine days of screen projections (many of them prmires) debates and exhibitions transform the Auditorium Parco della Musica into a real feast for film lovers. Events take place elsewhere in the city as well, such as screenings at movie theatres and events held in symbolic venues, from Via Veneto to Piazza del Popolo, from the legendary studios in Cinecitt to a selection of film-related locations in the province of Rome and the entire Lazio region. The brand new festival, which has provoked much controversy even before hitting the screens because organisers have chosen to set it right on the heels of the Venice Film Festival, is produced by the Musica Per Roma Foundation, and is funded by a host of city authorities and private sponsors. The big challenge of the festival is that it seeks to get the entire city involved, which is why the programme includes exhibitions, panel discussions, concerts, fashion and literature as well as prestigious awards and a star-studded jury.
