17-21 Oct 2005. Two years from the death of one of the most most appreciated contemporary composers of the 20th century, this festival, organised by the Accademia di S. Cecilia in conjunction with Settembre Musica, the Accademia Filarmonica Romana and Musica per Roma, pays tribute to Luciano Berio, his music and his genius. The programme consists of the performance of some of Berios most significant work together with music by the composers he loved most; these include Bartok and Brahms, as well as work by young composers and world premieres commissioned by Berio for the Accademia di S. Cecilia.
