Breathe - Respiro is the theme of the ninth edition of the annual Festival del Verde e del Paesaggio taking place once more on the roof gardens of Rome's Auditorium Parco della Musica from 10-12 May.The three-day festival dedicated to gardening, landscape gardening, designer gardens, botanical nurseries and terraces has exhibitors throughout its 25,000-sqm outdoor space.This year the festival celebrates the fundamental role of trees and plants in human life, interpreting "green living" as a true lifestyle, not just a hobby.Organisers highlight the ever-crucial concept of the "urban forest" capable of reducing temperatures and purifying air as well as providing drainage and mitigating the effects of climate change.Visitors to the family-friendly event will find an extensive range of plants on sale as well as outdoor furniture, hammocks, sculpture and gardening equipment.The festival has innovative landscape installations and experts on hand to provide gardening tips and horticultural advice, as well as a children’s play area and garden-themed events including conferences and workshops dedicated to garden design.Highlights this year include The Bathing Forest, a climate-landscape installation; the Prateria Urbana walk through low-maintenance herbaceous plants; a multi-sensory garden experience inviting guests to look, smell and touch; a holistic garden in which to practice yoga; and special areas devoted to herbal medicine and wellness.
