Festival honours Tomas Milian
Popular Rome-based actor to receive Marc’Aurelio Acting Award
Tomas Milian will be presented with the Marc’Aurelio Acting Award at the ninth edition of the Rome Film Festival from 16-25 October.
The Cuban-born actor will receive his prize from Italian director Sergio Castellitto at 16.30 on 17 October, and afterwards will meet the public during a Masterclass.
Festival organisers say the decision to confer the prestigious award to Milian is mainly because he is "one of the very symbols of Roman-ness in cinema, alongside figures of the calibre of Alberto Sordi and Carlo Verdone."
Milian has been working in the Italian movie scene since the 1960s, starring in numerous spaghetti westerns and detective films over the years.
