Amarcord on 17-20 April. Losely inspired by the Fellini’s film of the same name to mark the 40th anniversary of the film and the 20 anniversary of the director’s death. The choreography is by Luciano Cannito, music by Nino Rota, with Rossella Brescia in the role of Gradisca. It was first performed at the Teatro S. Carlo in 1995.
Comics on 29 April-11 May. In this Emiliano Pellisari creation for the NoGravity company cartoons come to the world of dance, all to the sound of jazz. Pellisari, one of Italy’s most inventive choreographers, is inspired by a mix of ancient Greek theatr, Renaissance fantasy and the science of the Enlightenment. Comixs influenced by the work of Keith Haring and Chagall, balanced between the world of comic strips and early cinema. See also www.nogravitydance.com.
