The Sagra del Pesce, or Fish Festival, returns to the seaside town of Fiumicino outside Rome from 13-15 June.
Now in its 44th edition, the annual three-day culinary festival is dedicated to fish cuisine, in particular the fritto variety.
The event involves 250 kg of fish - mostly shrimp and squid - being fried in a giant pan and distributed to spectators on Friday and Saturday evening between 20.00 and 23.00, and on Sunday from 13.00-15.00, then again later from 17.30 until all eaten.
