The London Flamenco festival is being held at the Sadlers Wells theatre for the second year running and this year sees top flamenco dancers and musicians such as Sara Baras, Carmen Linares, Carlos Rodriguez and Eva Yerbabuena performing together. The Flamenco festival by no means concentrates exclusively on dance, giving equal time to flamenco cante and guitar playing. The festival opens on 17 January with Los cuatro elementos starring Carlos Rodrguez, Roco Molina, Alejandro Granados, and Carmen Corts. For those of you who get completely carried away by the event, Sadlers Wells is offering free after show flamenco classes! Classes are taught by Helena, a member of Simpatico Flamenco, who has danced throughout Europe and teaches at The Place. The fun starts directly after the show on the mezzanine foyer level.
