Working parents are often at a loss as to what to do with their children during the summer holidays but a number of English-speaking schools help by offering activities.
Among these is the American Overseas School of Rome, which has an adventure camp with sports, arts and theatre for those aged 3-15, until 29 July. Two-week sessions, 09.00-12.30 or 09.00-15.30 are e275 and e375 respectively. Via Cassia 811, tel. 0633438320.

At Greenwood Garden School activities include games, swimming and cooking for children aged 3-7, until 22 July. 08.30-15.15, e135 for a week. Via Vito Sinisi 5, tel. 0633266703.
At the end of the long summer break children aged 5-12 can spend part of their summer learning about animals and wildlife while making new friends at the Museo Civico di Zoologia. Participants at the summer camp make collages and draw pictures of their surroundings, visit the laboratories and play games. There is also an excursion to Villa Borghese and the adjoining Bioparco.
The camp runs 29 Aug-9 Sept and costs e80 in total or e18 a day. Museo Civico di Zoologia, Via Ulisse Aldrovandi 18. More details tel. 0632609200.
