Gauguin painting on loan in Rome
The painting Te ra au rahi (The big tree) by French Post-Impressionist artist Paul Gauguin is currently on display at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna (GNAM), where it will be exhibited in Room 15 until 26 May 2014.
Painted in 1891, the work dates from Gauguin's Polynesian period. It is in Rome on loan from the Cleveland Museum of Art in the US, in exchange for GNAM's L'Arlésienne, Portrait of Madame Ginoux by Vincent Van Gogh.
