Gehard Demetz at MACRO
23 June-10 Sept. Italian artist Gehard Demetz is known for his skilfully-crafted wooden sculptures of morose adolescents and children.
His mysterious works often have "missing" pieces, raising various interpretations such as lost innocence, predestination and memories buried in the child psyche.
His latest works are inspired by sacred and profane themes, juxtaposing churches and religious icons alongside a juvenile Hitler and Mao.
