The Gelato Festival takes place at Rome's Auditorium Parco della Musica from 21-23 June, each day from midday until midnight. With temperatures soaring in the capital it is the perfect time to cool down by sampling the produce of some of the best ice cream makers from Italy and abroad. There are numerous tasting events, "show cooking" courses and competitions scheduled during the three-day festival. In addition to tasting the wide range of ice cream on offer, visitors can learn about the culture and ingredients behind the ever-popular gelato.
