19 May-28 Aug. The Palazzo delle Esposizioni chronicles the long career of Italian photographer Gianni Berengo Gardin who was born in the northern Italian region of Liguria in 1939 but has lived and worked in Switzerland, Rome, Paris and Venice.
Acclaimed for his reportage work, Berengo Gardin is considered by many as the most important photographer in Italy in the latter part of the 20th century.
The retrospective exhibition displays his most celebrated images along with his lesser-known work, offering a vera fotografia of his illustrious career.
