Gioacchino Ersoch: Un architetto per Roma Capitale
16 May-20 Sept. Exhibition celebrating the bicentenary of the birth of Italian architect Gioacchino Ersoch (1815-1902) who over the course of his long and varied career left his stamp on Rome, with major buildings such as the Mattatoio in Testaccio.
The plans and documents on display reveal how the versatile architect adapted to the civic and social needs of the capital, particularly as it evolved during the decades after Italian unification in 1870.
