Rome celebrates Japanese cherry blossoms at Orto Botanico.
12-14 April. The Botanical Garden Museum of the Sapienza University of Rome, in collaboration with the Japanese Cultural Institute in Rome, organises three days dedicated to the blossoming of the cherry trees in the Japanese Garden of Rome's Botanical Garden.
From 12-14 April it will be possible to admire the beauty of the Japanese cherry blossoms, take part in guided tours for adults and in educational activities and origami workshops for children.
There will also be tea ceremonies, exhibitions on Kakejiku and Ikebana and lectures on Japanese cherry trees, on the Hanami Festival and on the recently-created Japanese Garden of the Botanical Garden of Naples.
Free guided tours - no booking required - are scheduled on 12 April (11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 16.00, 17.00); 13 April (11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14:30, 16.00, 17.00); 14 April (10.00, 11.00, 12.00, 14.00, 15.00, 16.00, 17.00).
There are free educational activities for children (no booking necessary) on 13 April from 15.00 to 18.00 and on 14 April from 10.00 to 13.00.
