23 Nov.
The S. Cecilia Academy and the Musica Per Roma Foundation celebrate Philip Glass’s 75th birthday.
The first part of the programme compares the work of Glass with that of Igor Stravinsky and of Arvo Part. The second is entirely dedicated to Glass and includes excerpts from Einstein on the beach, Satyagraha, The Photographer, the soundtrack of Martin Scorsese’s film Kundun and other iconic compositions.
The music is performed by the S. Cecilia Choir and by the Ensemble Contemporaneo del Parco della Musica conducted by Ciro Visco and Tonino Battista. Part of Romaeuropa Festival.
