24 March. Common environmental challenges and how to join forces and fight back.
As the world lives through one of its hottest and driest years, it's become clear that environmental challenges demand the attention of policy-makers and the wider public alike. The issue is particularly relevant to the Arab world and in particular the Gulf, fighting desertification. An international round-table discussion in English will assess how civil society and institutions can join forces to reverse this trend.
The talk takes place at the Euro-Gulf Information Center on Via Gregoriana 12, at 17.00, and the expert speakers include Federico Brocchieri (Italian Climate Network), Khawla al-Muhannadi (President, Environment Friends Society of Bahrain), Abdulla al-Kaabi (Author, Birds of Arabia), Alessandro De Rossi (Professor, University of Lecce), Giuseppe Carrus (Professor, Università Roma Tre).
The Euro-Gulf Information Centre (EGIC) is an initiative designed to build social, political, strategic, cultural and economic bridges between the people of Europe and the Arabian Gulf. For more details see website.
