17-24 April. Puccini's Trittico at il Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
Puccini's Trittico is made up of three one act operas, Il Tabarro, Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi which was staged for the first time at the Metropolitan Opera in 1918. Puccini intended all three operas, which have the unifying theme of a death that has been concealed, to be staged at the same time but sometimes they are now separated or paired with another one-act opera. This production is in conjunction with Denmark's Royal Theatre and the Vienna Theatre is conducted by Daniele Rustione and directed by Damiano Michieletto.
