Ileana Florescu: Les chambres du Jardin
27 April-27 May. The French Academy at Villa Medici presents Le s chambres du Jardin, an exhibition by Ileana Florescu. Dedicated to a garden theme, the exhibition promises "opulent nature, historical narration and fantasy, illustrious characters and court intrigues."
Curated by Cristiano Leone, the exhibition comprises 17 light-boxes in which the artist mixes art and nature, inspired by the Roman sojourn of Cardinal Ferdinando de' Medici, from 1577 to 1588, and 16th-century floor plans of garden flowerbeds by botanic artist Giuseppe Casabona.
