Irises in Florence
The Italian iris society, founded in Florence in 1959, will open its garden off Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence from Sun 2-Thurs 20 May,10.00-12.30 and 15.00-19.00, closed the morning of Mon 10 May. The garden has 1,500 types of irises from all over the world. From Mon 10-Sat 15 May iris growers from Italy and abroad will display 136 varieties in the annual competition. The closing ceremony of the competition will be held in the Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, on Sat 15 May at 10.00.
