Irish Film Festa: Day Three
1 April. The tenth edition of Irish Film Festa, the festival dedicated entirely to Irish cinema, continues at 16.00 on Saturday 1 April in the Sala Deluxe at the Casa del Cinema with the screening of In View. Ruth is a police officer who, unable to mourn the loss of her son and husband, begins to lose her grip on life. Her guilt is irrepressible, and pushes her to confront past mistakes in search of redemption.
In View is followed by a Q&A session with the film's director Ciaran Creagh and its protagonists Caoilfhionn Dunne and Gerard McSorley.
At 18.15 the festival presents a public encounter with the Oscar-nominated director Jim Sheridan followed by the screening of his film The Boxer (1997).
At 21.30 Sheridan will present his most recent film, The Secret Scripture, based on the novel of the same name by Sebastian Barry.
The Irish Film Festa takes place from 30 March to 2 April at its usual venue, the Casa del Cinema in Rome. All films are screened in their original language versions with Italian subtitles. Entry is free. For full details see website.
