Among the younger generation of violinists, Germany's Isabelle Faust has made a special impression as a deep, thoughtful, un-showy player, qualities that make her ideally suited to the great Bach solo works. As critics point out, some may find her approach cool, but it is perfectly balanced and she possesses both technical command and classical poise. Contracted to the “Harmonia Mundi” discographic label, last year Faust completed her set of Bach’s works for solo violin. In this Rome concert she plays two Bach partitas and a sonata.
