Italian translation of John Ashbery's poetry
The Centro di Studi italo-francesi presents the launch of Cento domande a scelta multipla di John Ashbery, an Italian translation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning American poet's One Hundred Multiple-Choice Questions, by Damiano Abeni and Moira Egan.
Abeni will speak at the event along with Valerio Magrelli, coordinated by Luigi Magno. The event will be conducted mostly in Italian, with some sections in English.
Abeni has been a prolific translator of American poetry into Italian over the last 40 years, while Egan is a celebrated American poet based in Rome.
The husband and wife team has published translations of works by Ashbery, Barth, Bender, Ferlinghetti, Hecht, Heti, and Josephine Tey, and their Italian translations have appeared in numerous journals in Italy.
