This is one of Romes most successful and enjoyable summer events; spending a few mellow evenings under the pine trees in Villa Celimontana with a glass of wine, dinner if you want, and some damn good jazz has become a must. This years festival offers a good selection of big names including Ryuichi Sakamoto (3 July), Laurie Andersen (11 July), Sarah-Jane Morris (24 July), Bill Frisell (25 July), Dave Holland (30 July), Enrico Rava (12 August), but it also gives plenty of space to the lesser-known sounds from Switzerland, Holland, Greece and Lithuania.
