John Chamberlain and Joan Mitchell
An exhibition at Rome's Gagosian Gallery juxtaposes paintings by Joan Mitchell (1925-1992) and sculptures by John Chamberlain (1927-2011), two American artists inspired by Abstract Expressionism.
Mitchell is a major figure in the second generation of Abstract Expressionists, as well as one of the few female exponents, while Chamberlain is best known for his metal sculptures constructed from discarded metal detritus.
Tues-Sat 10.30-19.00 and by appointment.
