7 Sept-15v Dec. The “Weapons of the Romans” exhibition shows detailed plastic models and a selection of archaeological findings that illustrate the sophisticated Roman art of war.
There are military helmets of the end of the first century AD and the beginning of the second, with particular reference to the period of Trajan and Marcus Aurelius, and a section highlights and compares leading figures from various periods of the Roman army from the end of the first century AD until the fourth century.
There is also a collection of bronze gladiator helmets, used in ceremonies or parades.
