Until 4 March 2003. Conducted by Roberto Rizzi Brignoli, directed by Bepi Morassi, with Massimo Giordano, Cinzia Forte, Franco Vassallo, Bruno Pratic. This comic opera, based on a libretto by Felice Romani, is one of Donizettis best-loved works. It is an opera semiseria rather than a true opera buffa, as it contains moments of real pathos as well as one of the greatest of all buffo roles.
