24 June-15 Aug 2004. Cinema, music, art and other events give life to the Isola Tiberina in the heart of the city. It hosts an international film festival with various sections dedicated to Italian film-making, shorts and films from Brazil, Argentina, Israel, Morocco, Germany, Hungary, India, Thailand and China. A pivotal point of the festival is an international competition of shorts entitled Urban Islands focusing on the theme of the metropolis. The "village" surrounding the cinema spaces offers ethnic and Italian food stalls, bars, internet cafs and more.
