Liu Bolin. A Secret Tour
12 Sept-11 Nov. The amazing images of Chinese artist Liu Bolin merging so perfectly into the background that he is hard to spot, are on show in this exhibition that documents his intense relationship with Italy. The images narrate a “secret journey” undertaken by the artist to significant locations across the Italian peninsula. Liu Bolin’s work utilises body art, performance, painting, and photography which ultimately functions as a final witness.
He uses body paint that matches exactly with the place where he appears causing him to disappear into it. He is then photographed, creating an indelible testimony to the loss of identity while he merges with the background. His works also focus on the relationship between the individual and space.
09.30-18.30. Sat and Sun from 09.30-19.30. Mon closed.
