Long Night of the Museums.
29 Jan 2005. The murky arts of the museums, the custodians of our past: numerous museums allow surprisingly intimate insights into their secret vaults and laboratories at night. The 17th Lange Nacht der Museen is an opportunity for Berlins museums and cultural institutions to show off their new acquisitions, to pat themselves on the back over their latest research efforts, and, not least, to display never before seen treasures. More than 80 museums and cultural institutions are taking part, including first-time participants like the Berlinische Galerie with its permanent exhibition on Fine Arts, Photography and Architecture, and the Schloss Britz. The collection of the gyptische Museum (Egyptian Museum) is on display at Charlottenburg for the last time before moving to Berlins cultural heart, the Museumsinsel. Combination tickets entitling visitors to enter all participating museums costs just 12, which includes bus shuttles and public transport as well. One not to miss! Open 18:00 to 02:00.
