28 June-29 July 2006. Inaugurating this open-air summer music season is a concert by the Brass Instruments and the Percussions of the Orchestra dellAccademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia conducted by Andy Crowley, and by the Choir of the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia directed by Roberto Gabbiani. Music by Mussorgsky and Orff. Then it is the turn of the Grande Orchestra Popolare conducted by Ambrogio Sparagna in an event entitled La Notte della Taranta, with the participation of the Sud Sound System. A concert follows almost every evening with a programme for a wide range of tastes, including jazz with John Zorn and Gilberto Gil, pop and rock with Tracey Chapman and Bob Dylan, world music with Youssou NDour, and much more. All concerts begin at 21.00.
