Machina. Tecnologia dell’Antica Roma.
23 Dec-5 April 2010. This scientific/didactic exhibition reveals the secrets of the technology that underpinned Roman civilisation and made the expansion of Roman commerce and military power possible. Some of the technology, in areas such as civil engineering, construction and transport, as well as inventions such as the mechanical reaper, remained unsurpassed until the 19th century; others, such as the arch, have remained untouched to this day. There are over 100 examples of Roman technology on show, including archaeological remains, virtual reconstructions, machines and plastic models.
