People joining a trip to Umbria on Sat 22 Oct can reap the fresh saffron harvest.
Flavor of Italy which organises tours and cooking classes in English and Italian is visting Citt della Pieve; visitors will take part in the harvest, from gathering the flowers through to the final drying process of the spice. They will then enjoy a lunch featuring dishes prepared with saffron. This tour will be with an English-speaking guide.
