3-13 March 2005. This international festival for contemporary music takes place at the Berliner Festspiele. MaerzMusik acts as a platform for the eclectic currents flowing throughout the contemporary music scene. The organizers aim to provide equal weight to the various perspectives, forms, discussions and developments in modern composing and music processing, including non-European and historical forms. Since its relatively recent foundation, the festival has succeeded in depicting the multifaceted nature and vibrancy of present-day music creation as well as attracting an ever greater audience to the contemporary music scene. For this 2005 edition, some 30 projects are being staged, with world premieres, specially commissioned pieces, and first-time German performances on the bill.
