Writer Catherine Johnson's sunny, funny tale unfolds on a tiny fantasy Greek island. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. This tale of love, laughter and friendship features many songs of the famous Swedish group ABBA including Dancing Queen, Take a chance on me, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! and of course Mamma Mia. The show was first performed in front of an audience in London on March 23, 1999 and has travelled around the world since - Broadway, Las Vegas, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Melbourne, Stockholm, and Stuttgart. The amazing story of ABBA dates back to 1974 when the group won the Eurovision Song Contest with a song entitled Waterloo. To date, ABBA has sold over 350 million records worldwide.
